The collection of Philistine DNA, is inspired by ancient Philistine pottery found in Aqroon or Ekron, north of Gaza. The pottery dates from 9-8th century BCE. Aqroon was one of the Philistine Pentapolis cities. Gaza City was also part of the Pentapolis.

The Philistines and the Philistine culture coined the name Palestine, which has been used referring to the land, for 4000 continues years.

This “Timeline” large jar is hand made in the same ancient way, is a nod to thousands of olive oil jars that have been made in Palestine for 10,000 years, nearly unchanged. A timeline of major events in historic Palestine from 9000 BCE until this day, is coiled around the big jar. The timeline arrives to our day, when the world is watching the killing of besieged Palestinians in 2024 CE.

It is stoneware clay fired in 1280 degrees, with only the 1948 glazed in black.
